Large Circular Tray · Quandary Quagmire · Shoal
This round wooden tray, brings to life the strange world of Quandary Quagmire in the colourway Shoal.
A luminous marshland where man-made pollution encroaches on the precious little space reserved for the natural kingdom. Under the looming shadows of giant prickly cacti, these elusive beasts spend their days confined to hazardous islands and surrounded by ever encroaching toxic goop.
The inspiration behind this world came from fantastical animal skin rugs designed by renowned Austrian-born architect, artist and textile designer Josef Frank. Frank's imaginative body of work reflects the beauty and fragility of the natural world, and the rugs he created offered a genuine alternative to the real animal skins that were popular in people's homes at the time.
Illustrated in the Vespertine studio by Sam Wilde, each tray is hand-crafted on the Swedish island of Öland and made to the highest specifications using FSC certified Scandivanian birch wood.
Display as a colourful artwork or use your tray to serve up anything from afternoon tea to evening cocktails. All Vespertine trays offer timeless style and versatility and have been crafted to last you a lifetime.
